Before Season 54 kicks off with 8 new challengers lets recap on Division 1.1’s rather hectic Season 53. 932 Goals in 132 Games, need I say more? 11Final53 Flying Above Sin

Two notable teams this season were Protected By Hummingbirds and Sin City. It’s easier to spot the differences in the teams’ performances by looking at their losses.

Protected By Hummingbirds surprisingly lost both their matches against Sin City, first 2-0 (in Round 6) then 3-1 (in Round 17), and lost 3-2 in a tight match against Nantwich too. However, while Protected By Hummingbird couldn’t beat Sin City, Sin City where having similar problems against Boscombe. Boscombe thwarted Sin City twice, Nantwich also beat them and they suffered through a harsh 4-0 defeat in Round 2 by Newport Warriors.

The early season blunder aside Sin City would have still found themselves below Protected By Hummingbirds on goal difference. Protected By Hummingbirds are the Champions of the Division, congratulations to them and good luck in the next season.

All Going Up?

Sin City and Boscombe faced the Play-Offs for the Premier League this Season. Two very strong teams indeed! One is the kryptonite to the Champions of the Division; the other the kryptonite to their fellow Play-Off Team, Sin City must be glad that the two teams didn’t actually have to face each-other in the Play-Offs.

Boscombe had to face G.I.S.B. Rammstein F.C, Ossett Youth Academy and All Stars™ in their Play-Offs, all familiar names, and Boscombe was victorious against all of them claiming all 9 points!

Sin City had a much tighter group featuring Greenbay, Diably Podlaskie and FC REAL HISTON. Between Sin City and Greenbay, it all came down to who could beat FC REAL HISTON by the biggest margin as the rest of the results were draws. Greenbay won 2-1 while Sin City won 7-0 against FC REAL HISTON so they squeezed through to the Premier League.

Safe As Houses

With not much pressure from the bottom of the table Nantwich, Newport Warriors FC, Starion FC and Ginja Ninjas ended this season without any worries of relegation, 7th placed Ginja Ninjas were safe by a vast 16 points.

The only team that may be a little frustrated would be Nantwich as they finished equal points with Boscombe, those final standings may have been a little different if Round 7 didn’t end with a goalless draw between the two. Nantwich proved to be the better side in the second match as they beat Boscombe 2-1.

All Going Down… Again?

For the third time in a row no team managed to survive the Play-Offs to stay in Division1.1. Both Warrington Town F.C. and South Woodford AFC have been relegated.

Warrington Town F.C. got bested by Scunthorpe United while South Woodford AFC ended their Play-Off campaign with no points.

I can’t say too much about the automatically relegated teams Merseyside All-Stars, Wafty Crankers and Queens Park City. I think it was fairly obvious from the half season report, and their transfers before then, that they had cleared out their squads. Hopefully we’ll see them racing up the Division again in the future, their bank balance must be in the black after a lot of good sales.

Time For A Switch-a-roo!

The maximum number of teams has been changed around this season! 8 new challengers wait for Season 54 to face off against the 4 teams that ended in safety.

Div2.1:

Pilgrims got automatic promotion in a very tight Division with 53 points. They had 5 Draws and 1 loss as they barely beat Scunthorpe United to the top spot on Goal Difference.

Speaking of Scunthorpe United, they got all 9 points in the Play-Offs beating Warrington Town F.C. and taking their spot in Division 1.1.

Div2.2:

LFC Avenue is the only undefeated team to get promoted with 62 points after having 2 draws.

Bristol Predators ended the season 2nd Place with 54 points and smashed through the Play-Offs getting all 9 points against Hythe, Wirral Blues and Division 1.1’s South Woodford AFC.

Div2.3:

Potato Chasers return to Division 1.1 after being relegated the Season prior. They got promoted with 63 points, only taking a single loss to Wirral Blues.

Last season I said this about the Premier League

Sin City and automatically relegated Merseyside All-Stars, familiar names, which shows how hard it is to stay in the Premier League recently.

Well in this Season Division 1.1 has to play against the likes of Ossett Youth Academy, Greenbay and Real Brid that have fallen from the Premier League… prestige-a-plenty there!

The Transfer Watch

Here’s every transfer that was 100,000GBP and above from the Second Half of this League.

And that wraps up Season 53; can you predict how the next season may end up? Have a good day everyone! Congratulations to all that were promoted, commiserations to the relegated.
